PHYSIOTHERAPY

Physiotherapy is a branch of medical science that provides treatment to individuals to develop, maintain and restore maximum movement and function throughout life by means of physical exercise and electrical modalities. Physical therapy is concerned with the promotion, prevention, treatment/intervention and rehabilitation therapy maximizing the quality of life. Physiotherapy has main two branches:

Exercise therapy:
Exercise therapy includes active, passive and free exercise.

Electrotherapy:
Electrotherapy includes interferential therapy(IFT), Ultrasonic therapy(UST), Transcutaneous electric nerve stimulation (TENS), Muscle stimulation(MS), Moist heat therapy(MHT), Shortwave diathermy(SD), Traction, etc.

Cardiopulmonary, geriatrics, neurologic, orthopedic and pediatrics are some of the more common areas where physiotherapy is effective.
